Direkt Aktion LP – OUT NOW

About 15 or even 16 years to late its finally released…containing tracks from the early to the late 90s, check the audios here…

Some people waited hard on this one to happen…and they will not be disappointed in the end. This vinyl with its gatefold cover comes as a collectors item. 250 pressed, 100 limited with a full-colored poster and a 7″ which contains live-material from the legendary ‘x-mas – kill the nation with a groove jam’ in hamburg 1993.

Direkt Action as one of Hamburgs if not Germanys first hardcore-rap crews (and one of the founding crews of the Hamburg Hardcore sound) made themselves a big name  in Germany and especially North-Germany with their live-performances. These live-performances and the guest-appearance on the Readykill MLP in 1993 (track: The Approach) and the legendary ‘Victims Of Western States’ on the ‘Hamburg Hardcore’ sampler in 1994 (alongside crews like ‘Atmosfear (who later became a member of Direkt Action too and can be found on two tracks of this album), ‘Fog Moor’, ‘Barricade’, ‘Mind-X-Panding’, ‘Syren’,  ‘Respublica’, ‘Parts Of Chaos’ and ”Urban Brainwave’ made the fans want a full Direkt Action album. Direkt Action started working on a album, titled ‘Born in a lost world’  which was scheduled for the end of 1994 and then got deferred to 1995…and finally got cancelled. The groups lineup was changing during that period, ‘Peshmerga’ left the group, ‘Syren’ joined and left again, ‘Mc Polo’ tragically passed away (RIP) and in the later 90′s finally the last two founding members, ‘Mc Overkill’ and Dj Onslord’ got joined by ‘Atmosfear’.’ Apart from ‘Atmosfear’ ‘Peshmerga’ can be found on that Album (and on the 7″ if you were fast enough and got yourself one) too.
In 2009 Gato started working on this project and got it released just a day ago. It is not the original recording of ‘Born in a lost world’ as most of the recordings are lost or are just not in an acceptable quality for pressing them up on wax, but the album must not hide, in the opposite…it’s an assortment of a full decade, a collection of some of the best tunes of a full decade of the band.

After the ‘Direkt intro’ the album starts with with ‘Prepare for the storm’, a depressive song rapped by ‘Mc Overkill’, originated in the later era of the band, followed up by the remake of the classical ‘Streets of Hamburg’ (which can be found as a live version on the 7″) simply called ‘Streets of Hamburg part 2′ which founds ‘Atmosfear’ rapping besides ‘Mc Overkill’, scratches were equipped by ‘Schleuderkralle’ ‘Dj Onslord’, same goes for the powerful track ‘Positive / negative’ which completes side A with its hardcore skills.
The second side starts with the smoother ‘Victims of drugs’ and its title say what its about, the lyrics coming in first place here. Straight after its intro ‘Ignore’ hits hard with its typical Hamburg Hardcore sound, featuring ‘Peshmerga’ alongside ‘Mc Overkill’ on the mics and ‘Dj Onslord’ on the decks. nuff said…check the snippets yourself:
