Mass Hysteria Part 1 (The Review)

12.08.2006 – This was the second jam of underground united in 2006, location was Hamburg/Fundbureau… Performing groups were

Deliverance (UK)
Hundredth Monkey (UK)
Hypercondriacs (UK)
Sharpshooters (NL)
Mental Disorda (Hamburg)
Hideouz Newcome (Hamburg)
Too Many Secrets (Regensburg)
Direkt Aktion / Mind-X-Panding (Hamburg)

special guests this time: Readykill (Hamburg)

Hosted By DJ Psychopath

Because of sickness Sonz Of Hardcore (NL) and Hunta (Hamburg) weren’t able to perform.

Review:

TMS (Too Many Secrets) opened the marathon-night with tracks from their debut relase ‘partisanen’ and others with their oldschool sounding german rap (reminding me of the times when german rap was great and it was able to see german-rap and britcore acts on the same jam).

Direkt Aktion and Mind-X-Panding with the help of Sane-One (R.A.F.) fired political Lyrics, mostly in german into the crowd, high spot for me (and for many others as the crowd-reaction showed) was ‘Victims Of Western States’ (Hamburg Hardcore Sampler).

Time for the dutch underdog crew Sharpshooters to rock Hamburg again, and they did. A massive performance with fresh new hardcore sounds.

HH80s Hideouz Newcome, 2nd performance after their coming back was as expected another pure power performance of mc hideouz, mc es-q-late (backing vocals) and dj psychopath. More of this power-pack soon…!!!

Time for the special guests, Readykill. It’s not exaggerated when I say the crowd went crazy. Both, Readykill and the crowd enjoyed this really – little eartquakes around the Fundbureau! They played a for his jam special mixed medley of old bangers and this found definitly its way into the cowd! Most impressive thing was that they ‘only’ performed with one Mc, Shootyadead a.ka. Styleskill, who didn’t perform any Readykill tracks since 1994 and who rapped after 12 years the parts of both (!!) Mcs.

Hypercondriacs (ex-Metaphorce Mc, Terrorwrists and others) showed impressive that real hip hop in the uk is still alive! These guys did a great debut-release which is really worth to check it. One of the high spots: ‘reciepes for disaster’ from the 1995 Metaphorce release ‘behind enemy lines/reciepes for…’ together with the second Metaphorce Mc Fluke, who was in the crowd this night. Hypercondriacs are a really very promising crew!

Mental Disorda. What else can I say. Who saw them live before or own one of the vinyls knows what i mean. Brutal. Cruel. Loud. Hardcore.

Hundredth Monkey. To prove this was quality there’s only need to mention these names: Bandog (Killa instinct), Remark (Deliverance), DJ Krashslaughta (Two Tone Committee, Killa Instinct). Supported on live-bass by jason these guys did a f**king heavy performance. From tracks from their debut-release to the specially for this jam made cd they played banger after banger, including accapella by Bandog and dj-set by Krashslaughta. Is there anything more the hardcore-heart needs?

After this performance it called or fresh air (like on the others as well, became hot in a good-filled Fundbureau), whilst DJ Psychopath took care that the tables are turning!

It was the first performance of the mighty Deliverance crew as this for ten years! Rage, Remark, Sirvive, Audio Jay really did a more than well job, playing tracks from thir vinyl as long as so far unheard tracks like ‘eleven years on’. Let’s hope this wasn’t the last performance of this genius band.

All hoped, nobody knew…will they play old tracks? They did. Killa instinct tracks from ‘Bambi Murders’ (with Style-W of the Sonz of Hardcore on the dubbing vocals) to ‘Now The Boy Dies’, performed with the pure energy of two high-talented artists…Krashslaughta on the decks, Bandog on the Vox. Who ever had the chance to see these guys live knows what I’m talking about! Reinforced again by Jason of the Monky Sons on bass.

In this place, many many thanks to all performing groups, all helpers (you know it would had been impossible without your help, cheers – i owe you one!) and last but not least – all those who supported the underground this night with paying entrance! PZ

For all those who are interested in more, missed it, were there and want more etc – theres a DVd out of the mass hysteria jams, get it HERE.
